Matthew Baldwin, the lone quarterback signee in Ohio State's recruiting class of 2018, suffered a non-contact injury on his first play in Lake Travis's Texas high school state championship game against Allen on Saturday.
Baldwin, who injured the same knee when he suffered a sprained meniscus one week earlier, was unable to return to the game. Baldwin's mother told Eleven Warriors' Andrew Lind, however, that the injury was not made worse on Saturday.
Baldwins mom told me its the same meniscus injury that sidelined him in the state semifinals. It just buckled on him, she said. We were hoping he could play and Im proud of him for trying, but it just wasnt meant to be. Now its all about getting better and ready for OSU. https://t.co/gg9Yx3Xr1n
