Ryan Shazier won't have to wait for the $8.26 million in 2018 base salary owed to him by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Steelers placed Shazier on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform List on Wednesday. Thursday, the franchise converted his base salary into a signing bonus.
The Steelers have converted $8.26M of LB Ryan Shaziers 2018 base salary into a signing bonus, per source. Shazier, placed on PUP Wednesday, earns that money now. While there are no cap implications, its a great gesture by a first rate organization.

Great show of solidarity from the Steelers for a beloved player like Shazier. Steelers president Art Rooney II said back in February that while Shazier won't play in 2018, he'll have a role of some sort with the team.
