As the lone wide receiver at Big Ten Media Days, we knew Parris Campbell was going to face questions about yesterday's firing of his position coach, Zach Smith, following a history of domestic assault allegations.
Campbell answered those questions, when asked to NBC4's Jerod Smalley, saying he understands the decision and now the receivers must lean on each other to get through the season.
“Nothing against Coach Smith, he’s been a great coach for me, a great mentor," Campbell told Smalley. "But at the end of the day, my coaches felt there was a decision that needed to be made."
The is uncharted territory for Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes. It's the first time Meyer has ever fired one of his assistants, and the first time they've dealt with a coaching change this close to the start of the season.
