It rained all day Saturday, so it was only fitting that The Ohio State University Marching Band honored Aretha Franklin with a blues-inspired halftime show dedicated to the Blues Brothers.
“The Best Damn Band in the Land” played numbers ranging from “Sweet Home Chicago” to ”Minnie the Moocher” to “Jail House Rock” as they ripped through songs from the popular movie from 1980.
While the band played “Think,” they spelled out a tribute to Aretha Franklin, “The Queen of Soul,” who passed away last month at 76.
TBDBITL, under Dr. Christopher Hoch's leadership, is off to another strong campaign. Last week saw the band honor Queen at halftime of the Oregon State game.
