The Ohio State football program was one of four Ohio State sports programs recognized Wednesday by the NCAA for its excellence in the classroom.
Ohio State was one of 14 Football Bowl Subdivision football teams who received a Public Recognition Award from the NCAA for finishing in the top 10 percent in Academic Progress Rate among all FBS teams. Air Force, Northwestern, Clemson, Duke, Navy, Washington, Vanderbilt, Boston College, Nevada, Utah, Wake Forest, Rice and UCF were the other schools honored.

Ohio State's women's golf, women's soccer and men's tennis teams also received Public Recognition Awards for finishing in the top 10 percent in their respective sports.
