At least five Buckeyes will head to Mobile, Alabama, after this season.

Left tackle Thayer Munford joined linebacker Baron Browning, running back Trey Sermon, defensive end Jonathon Cooper and linebacker Tuf Borland as the latest Ohio State player to accept an invitation to participate in the 2021 Senior Bowl.

The Buckeyes are one Senior Bowl representative away from their prior high of six in the 2004 showcase game.

As one of the 17 scholarship players listed as unavailable, Munford didn't play in Ohio State's 52-12 win at Michigan State over the weekend. However, he's in his third year as his team's starting left tackle and shined in the first four games of the season after recovering from some nagging injuries that hounded him the prior seasons.

Munford, a Cincinnati native who graduated from Massillon Washington, was honorable mention All-Big Ten in 2018 and a second-team All-Big Ten honoree in 2019.

The East-West Shrine Bowl also announced Munford as a selection for its game on Monday. That selection is only honorary, however, as the Shrine Bowl has already announced it will not play its 2021 game due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
