Marcus Crowley is “going to be out for a long time,” Ryan Day revealed on Tuesday after the Ohio State running back suffered a long-term injury during the team's bye week.
The third-year Buckeye was listed as unavailable for this past weekend's Indiana game, and C.J. Stroud alluded to the injury after the win when he said “I feel bad” for Crowley.
This adds to a lengthy injury history for Crowley as he missed two games earlier in the season after being carted off the field during the Buckeyes' Sept. 11 matchup with Oregon. Crowley was involved in a heavy collision on a kickoff return and was subsequently listed as unavailable against Tulsa and Akron in the following two contests.
In his true freshman season in 2019, Crowley tore his ACL during a midseason matchup with Maryland, and didn't take any offensive snaps in 2020 until last season's national championship game.
Crowley is Ohio State's fourth-leading rusher in 2021 with 103 yards on 20 attempts. Crowley also has one reception for 21 yards. The Florida native graded out as a champion for the first time this season when he tallied 79 yards on eight touches from scrimmage against Rutgers on Oct. 2.
Day said he is expecting both Master Teague and Miyan Williams to be available this week after Teague was unavailable last week and Williams left the Indiana game with an injury.
