Toledo Pregame Picks: Staff Score Predictions, Picks Against the Spread, and Eleven Warriors House Prop Bets

The No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes welcome the Toledo Rockets for a primetime affair at Ohio Stadium tonight. 

Oddsmakers currently have the Buckeyes as 31.5-point favorites with the over-under for points scored set at 61. Ohio State is riding a 101-year unbeaten streak against in-state schools, with its most recent loss coming to Oberlin in 1921.

Griffin: Ohio State 41, Toledo 16. "Don’t let Toledo’s defensive rankings fool you: Ohio State shouldn’t have much trouble putting up big numbers on the Rockets, although the Buckeyes’ in-state adversary could prove more of a challenge than Arkansas State – marginally, anyway."

Dan: Ohio State 45, Toledo 17. "I think Toledo is a better team than Arkansas State, so I expect this game to be closer than last week – but not much closer, as I think the Buckeyes will play cleaner football against a stronger opponent."

Garrick: Ohio State 45, Toledo 13. "Toledo will put up an honorable fight, but the Buckeyes’ superior talent will win out over four quarters."

Matt: Ohio State 63, Toledo 6. "Some people are questioning if the Buckeyes’ offense of 2022 is as potent as the 2021 version. Some may remain unhappy with the victory, even with Ohio State reaching 50+ points for the 17th time in Day's 36-game career. Why? Because Day defeated the two previous MAC teams he's faced by an average score of 68-6."

George: Ohio State 41, Toledo 10. "While Jaxon Smith-Njigba's return gives the offense a boost, Toledo has a sneaky good defense that brought back eight starters from last season. The Rockets have a top-15 FBS rushing offense through two games, but they haven't demonstrated an aerial attack that can keep pace with Ohio State's ability to generate chunk gains and big scoring plays."

Ramzy: Ohio State 52, Toledo 15. "Toledo is a better team than Arkansas State, and might be better than Notre Dame. But as far as we know, every team is better than Notre Dame. You love to see it."

Johnny: Ohio State 52, Toledo 9. "Fans get the blowout we've been hoping for, and not a moment too soon lest the serfs of the other Ohio collegiate football teams get any ideas."

Chase: Ohio State 45, Toledo 17. "Toledo will have its moments against the Buckeyes, but at the end of the day, Ohio State is more talented, especially if its at full strength with Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Julian Fleming and Jordan Hancock. The Buckeyes take care of business in this one and win big."

Josh: Ohio State 45, Toledo 10. "The Buckeyes’ dominance over in-state opponents continues. The only question: Will Ohio State cover the spread for the first time this season?"

Chris: Ohio State 49, Toledo 17. "The defense forces its first two turnovers of the year, one courtesy of the recently-maligned Denzel Burke, as the Buckeyes successfully complete their final tuneup before conference play."

The current Vegas spread sits at Ohio State -31.5 after the Buckeyes opened as 34-point favorites over Toledo earlier this week.
