Only one player in Buckeye history has thrown more touchdown passes than C.J. Stroud.
With his 64th career touchdown pass on Saturday, Stroud passed Justin Fields to move into second place among all-time Buckeyes, sitting behind only J.T. Barrett (104). But Stroud wasn't done there, and on a six-touchdown night in East Lansing, Stroud tied or set a few other records before the clocks hit zero at Spartan Stadium.
Stroud opened the game with a 19-yard touchdown pass to Marvin Harrison Jr. to cap a seven-play, 80-yard drive for the Buckeyes. The second touchdown, a 69-yard connection between Stroud and sophomore wideout Emeka Egbuka, came immediately after the third-year Ohio State quarterback threw the first pick-6 of his career.

The 2021 Heisman Trophy finalist added to his career touchdowns total in the second quarter, as he hooked up with Julian Fleming for a 51-yard score that put the Buckeyes ahead, 21-7, after the extra point.

Before the end of the half, Stroud hit Harrison one more time on a 28-yard score that gave the California native 285 yards and four touchdowns on 15-for-18 passing as he went to the locker room in East Lansing. It's the 11th four-plus-touchdown performance for Stroud, who is now tied with Barrett for the all-time Buckeye record in games with at least four passing scores.
By the time Stroud tossed his fifth touchdown pass in the third quarter, he claimed the Big Ten record for five-touchdown performances with eight. On his sixth touchdown pass, Stroud became the first Buckeye and first player in Big Ten history to throw six touchdowns in three different games, and his sixth scoring pass also tied the single-game Ohio State record also held by Barrett (twice), Dwayne Haskins (twice), Justin Fields and Kenny Guiton.
