Another opportunity to bet on Ohio State football has arrived.
After FanDuel debuted betting lines for the Buckeyes' matchups with Notre Dame, Penn State and Michigan in February, the sportsbook released a point spread on Wednesday for the program's Big Ten East battle against Michigan State on Nov. 11, with Ohio State favored by more than three touchdowns at 21.5 points.
Of the four spreads FanDuel has set for the Buckeyes, 21.5 points is the largest that favors the scarlet and gray. As it stands, Ohio State is a 10-point favorite over Notre Dame, a 9.5-point favorite over Penn State and a one-point underdog to Michigan.
DATE | OPPONENT | LOCATION | POINT SPREAD |
---|---|---|---|
SEPT. 23, 2023 | NOTRE DAME | SOUTH BEND, INDIANA | -10 |
OCT. 21, 2023 | PENN STATE | COLUMBUS, OHIO | -9.5 |
NOV. 11, 2023 | MICHIGAN STATE | COLUMBUS, OHIO | -21.5 |
NOV. 25, 2023 | MICHIGAN | ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN | +1 |
If the line for the Buckeyes' matchup with the Spartans holds, it will tie with the 2020 matchup for the largest point spread in the last decade of games between the schools. Ohio State has covered the spread every time it's played Michigan State in the previous five years – four of them by 16 points or more.
Last season, the Buckeyes defeated the Spartans in East Lansing, 49-20, behind a 131-yard, three-touchdown performance from Marvin Harrison Jr. TreVeyon Henderson also rushed for 118 yards and a score while C.J. Stroud threw for 361 yards and six touchdowns. In 2021, Ohio State blew out Michigan State in a top-10 matchup at Ohio Stadium, as the Buckeyes claimed a 56-7 victory over the Spartans behind another six-touchdown effort from Stroud in a contest that was over by halftime.
This fall, Ohio State and Michigan State will meet after the Buckeyes return home following road trips to Wisconsin and Rutgers, while the Spartans will travel to Columbus after hosting Nebraska at Spartan Stadium.
