Indiana appears to have selected its starting quarterback for Saturday’s game against Ohio State, and it’s a bit of a surprise.
Brendan Sorsby, a redshirt freshman who appeared in only one game for the Hoosiers in 2022, is expected to start Saturday’s game over Tennessee transfer Tayven Jackson, according to multiple reports.

Jackson, the younger brother of former Indiana basketball star Trayce Jackson-Davis, was widely expected to be the opening-day starter after transferring to Indiana this offseason from Tennessee. But the Hoosiers appear set to roll into Saturday’s game with Sorsby, a less-heralded recruit who was ranked as the No. 66 quarterback in the 2022 class.
Much like Ohio State with Kyle McCord and Devin Brown, however, Indiana is expected to play two quarterbacks in Saturday’s game, as Jackson also took reps behind the starting center during pregame warmups.
