J.K. Dobbins suffered yet another injury setback in the Baltimore Ravens’ season opener.
The former Ohio State running back suffered a torn Achilles, which will sideline him for the rest of the 2023 NFL season, in the Ravens’ first game of the year against the Houston Texans on Sunday.
Head Coach John Harbaugh announced that J.K. Dobbins has a torn Achilles and will miss the season.

A second-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft, Dobbins has been plagued by injuries since his second NFL season. He missed the entire 2021 season after tearing his ACL in a preseason game, then played in only seven games last year as he continued to battle knee issues. He missed the start of the Ravens’ training camp this year with an undisclosed injury before being activated off the physically unable to perform list in August.
Dobbins is currently in the final year of his rookie contract, so another season-ending injury will significantly impact his market value as he becomes an NFL free agent for the first time next offseason.
Before suffering the injury on Sunday, Dobbins appeared to be healthy, rushing for 22 yards and a touchdown on eight carries and adding two catches for 15 yards. Now, however, Dobbins will be forced to work his way back from a major injury for the second time in three years.
