Ohio State fans won’t need to have Peacock to watch the Buckeyes play their next game against Maryland.

While Brett McMurphy had reported in August that Ohio State’s Oct. 7 home game against the Terrapins was in line to be broadcast on Peacock, the Big Ten announced Monday that the Buckeyes’ next game against Maryland will be televised by FOX with a noon kickoff.

It will be Ohio State’s second time playing on FOX this season, as the Buckeyes’ Sept. 16 game against Western Kentucky was also televised by the network. It will be the Buckeyes’ first Big Noon game on FOX this year and its second noon game overall, as Ohio State’s Sept. 9 game against Youngstown State also kicked off at 12 p.m.

While the Buckeyes won’t have to play on Peacock quite yet, it is still anticipated that Ohio State will have a game televised by Peacock at some point this season, as NBC Sports announced in August that Ohio State is in line to play a game that is exclusive to the streaming service this year.

Ohio State’s game against Maryland will be its fifth game of the season, as the Buckeyes have a bye this week.

Ohio State holds a perfect 8-0 record across its series history with the Terrapins, with each of those eight meetings occurring since 2014 after Maryland joined the Big Ten.

The closest the Terrapins have come to knocking off the Buckeyes was a 52-51 defeat in 2018, when they failed on a two-point conversion attempt in overtime that would have won them the game.

Ohio State and Maryland played a tight 43-30 battle in College Park in 2022, with a late scoop-and-score from Steele Chambers sealing a two-score win for the Buckeyes.

The Terrapins currently hold a 4-0 record in 2023 with a conference win at Michigan State in Week 4 and an additional Power Five victory over Virginia in Week 3. Star quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa has thrown for 1,112 yards, completing 64.4 percent of his passes with eight touchdowns and three interceptions.

Maryland plays Indiana this Saturday with kickoff scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Big Ten Network.
