Ohio State might be without its backup quarterback and red zone changeup for the rest of Saturday.
Devin Brown entered the game for the Buckeyes on a 1st-and-goal at Penn State's 9-yard line.
After a handoff to Chip Trayanum on first down, Brown kept the ball on 2nd-and-goal from the 6-yard line and plunged toward the goal line, coming up half a yard short. He didn't get up after the play, however.
Brown was taken to Ohio State's locker room on the medical cart with an apparent injury. FOX later reported on its broadcast that the injury was a right ankle sprain.

His absence likely means the Buckeyes won't pivot to any packages in the red zone involving a running quarterback. Entering Saturday, Brown was 12-for-22 throwing the ball for 197 yards and two touchdowns with 17 carries for 30 yards and one score, sacks included.
