Looks like Ohio State fans will have to wait at least a brief time to see Emeka Egbuka return to the field.
While the star receiver was not listed on Ohio State's availability report and is expected to play on Saturday, graduate wideout Xavier Johnson instead started in his place for the third consecutive game.
Johnson has six receptions for 85 yards and 12 rushes for 68 yards in 2023, with 70 combined rushing and receiving yards in the two previous games he started for Egbuka. Johnson has made exactly one catch in six consecutive games for the Buckeyes.
Egbuka has 22 receptions for 303 yards and three touchdowns in five games this season. He limped off the field after taking a hit in Week 6 against Maryland and was later seen in a walking boot. He's still yet to make his return for the Buckeyes, though he still could against Wisconsin after being made available.
