A semifinalist for the second consecutive season, Harrison accompanies Georgia tight end Brock Bowers, Michigan running back Blake Corum, LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels, Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II, UCLA defensive lineman Laiatu Latu, Oregon quarterback Bo Nix, Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr., Texas defensive lineman T'Vondre Sweat and Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis as a nominee in 2023.
This year, Harrison has 62 receptions for 1,093 yards and 14 total touchdowns – numbers that have placed him in the Heisman Trophy conversation with Penix, Nix and Daniels.
In 25 starts at Ohio State, Harrison has established himself as one of the best wide receivers, if not the best wide receiver, in school history. With his three catches, 30 yards and one touchdown vs. Minnesota on Saturday, the 6-foot-4, 205-pound pass-catcher has collected 150 receptions for 2,495 yards and 30 touchdowns as a Buckeye.
The Walter Camp Player of the Year Award is voted on by the 131 FBS head coaches and sports information directors. The award's three finalists will be announced on Nov. 28, and the 57th recipient of the Walter Camp Player of Year will be announced at The Home Depot College Football Awards Show on Dec. 7 in Bristol, Connecticut. ESPN will televise the show from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
