The All-American honors have started for Marvin Harrison Jr.
This week, Pro Football Focus and The Athletic announced their All-American teams for the 2023 regular season in college football. Harrison, Ohio State's leading receiver in 2023, received first-team honors from both outlets.
Across 12 appearances this season, Harrison collected 67 receptions for 1,211 yards and 15 total touchdowns. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound pass-catcher also became the first receiver in Ohio State history with back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons and the first Buckeye ever with 15 career 100-yard receiving games. Harrison recorded eight 100-yard games during the regular season and had 10 games with one touchdown, including four games with two touchdown catches.

In addition to his All-American honors from PFF and The Athletic – and his Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year recognition from last week – Harrison is a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award and the Heisman Trophy in 2023. Harrison is the odds-on favorite to win the Biletnikoff on Friday over Washington's Rome Odunze and LSU's Malik Nabers. With LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels as the odds-on favorite to win the Heisman on Saturday, Harrison could be in a battle for second place with Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. and Oregon quarterback Bo Nix.
A native of Philadelphia, Harrison was the lone Buckeye to receive first-team All-American honors from PFF and The Athletic. However, The Athletic did award Denzel Burke with second-team honors for his performances in 2023. Across 10 appearances for the Buckeyes, the 6-foot, 189-pound cornerback recorded 19 tackles, two tackles for loss, one forced fumble, one interception and nine pass breakups.
