Jeremiyah Love has revenge on his mind.
Following Notre Dame's Orange Bowl win over Penn State, the Irish running back said he wants Ohio State to beat Texas in the Cotton Bowl so he and his teammates can avenge their home loss to the Buckeyes last season.
"We want to play Ohio State. We lost to them last year in a game we should have won," Love told Andy Staples of On3. "I feel like Ohio State is better than Texas. I want to play the best and win."
In 2023, Ohio State defeated Notre Dame, 17-14, in South Bend behind a last-second 1-yard touchdown from Chip Trayanum. The Buckeyes drove 65 yards in 85 seconds to secure the walk-off win as Kyle McCord completed passes of 38, 19 and 21 yards to Emeka Egbuka and Marvin Harrison Jr. and put the offense in position for Trayanum's plunge into the end zone. The Irish only had 10 players on the field for the game-winning play.
Love has been Notre Dame's top running back in 2024, collecting 1,121 yards and 17 touchdowns in 15 appearances. He carried the ball 25 times for 172 yards and two scores in the Irish's College Football Playoff wins over Indiana, Georgia and Penn State.
If Ohio State beats Texas and advances to the national championship, the Buckeyes would be a 9.5-point favorite in the matchup, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
