Ohio State has found another way to honor Archie Griffin in advance of the 2024 season.
Ohio State unveiled an “Archie Griffin Drive” street sign on Friday at the intersection of Tuttle Park Place and Woody Hayes Drive, which sits just northeast of Ohio Stadium.

Per an Ohio State spokesperson, the street sign is a permanent honorary designation for the legendary Buckeye running back. The official address of the street, however, will remain Tuttle Park Place.
The new street sign is one of several ways Ohio State is honoring Griffin as he celebrates the 50th anniversary of winning his first Heisman Trophy. The two-time Heisman winner will become the first Ohio State football player to receive a statue outside Ohio Stadium when that is unveiled in the rotunda on the north end of the stadium next Friday. One day later, Griffin will dot the ‘i’ in Script Ohio before the Buckeyes’ season opener against Akron, becoming the first person to receive that honor in recognition of his achievements as an Ohio State football player.
Griffin, still the only two-time Heisman winner ever, also received a statue outside the Rose Bowl last week in recognition of his accomplishments in that game, where he became the first player ever to start in four Rose Bowls.
