Jeremiah Smith's record-breaking freshman season keeps collecting more achievements.
Just seven games into Ohio State's 2024 campaign, the No. 1 overall recruit from the class of 2024 has tied Cris Carter's school freshman receiving touchdowns record with eight end zone grabs. Smith equaled the benchmark with a 60-yard scoring grab in the second quarter against Nebraska on Saturday.

Nobody could catch the freshman on this @OhioStateFB TD

Smith doing things a freshman has never done before at Ohio State is nothing new. He became the earliest black stripe removal in that tradition's 13-year history this spring, then became the first freshman ever named an Iron Buckeye by the team's strength and conditioning staff.
Smith caught at least one touchdown in each of his first games with the Buckeyes, the first player in school history ever to do so, and has now extended that streak to seven games. No other freshman across college football has started with a scoring tear that long since 2005. He entered Saturday's contest with 32 receptions for 553 yards and seven scores, leading Ohio State in receiving yards and end-zone trips.
