Penn State’s starting quarterback has been sidelined by an injury one week before the Nittany Lions host Ohio State.
Drew Allar suffered an apparent knee injury late in the first half of the Nittany Lions’ game at Wisconsin on Saturday night and was replaced in the second half by backup quarterback Beau Pribula.
Allar went through halftime warmups with hopes of playing in the second half, but told Penn State coach James Franklin that he didn’t think he could continue playing.

“I asked him to be very, very honest with me, and he just didn't feel like he was going to be able to move well enough to go,” Franklin said after the game.

Allar’s health will now be one of the biggest question marks surrounding the Nittany Lions as they prepare to host the Buckeyes at Beaver Stadium next weekend.
Despite the absence of Allar, Penn State came back from a 10-7 halftime deficit to defeat Wisconsin, 28-13, and improve to 7-0 on the season. The Nittany Lions took the lead in the third quarter on a 19-yard interception return by Jaylen Reed, then Pribula led Penn State on two touchdown drives in the fourth quarter.
Pribula completed 11 of 13 passing attempts for 98 yards and one touchdown and ran for 28 yards on six attempts in his relief effort.
