The Buckeyes opted for traditional attire in the Rose Bowl – but not too traditional.

When No. 8-seeded Ohio State faces No. 1-seeded Oregon in "The Granddaddy of Them All," the Buckeyes will wear their standard road uniforms. The white jerseys will feature the trademark Rose Bowl patch but will not feature the gray sleeve stripes the program has worn in previous College Football Playoff appearances.

Ohio State's decision to wear traditional threads comes after a weekend in which the Buckeyes wore all-scarlet uniforms for a 42-17 win over Tennessee in the College Football Playoff first round. Ohio State's attire matched the program's "Scarlet the Shoe" theme for the contest.

Oregon has yet to announce its uniform combination for the Rose Bowl. However, the Ducks revealed Friday that the team will wear a special player-edition cleat of the Nike Kobe 6's – the KOBE VI UO PE – for the game. The cleats' white base and green and yellow trim indicate that Oregon will wear green or yellow rather than the black and silver alternate the Ducks wore in their 32-31 win over the Buckeyes in October.

According to consensus lines from The Action Network, Ohio State is a 2.5-point favorite over Oregon in the teams' rematch, which will kick off at 5 p.m. ET on New Year's Day. ESPN will televise the game with Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Holly Rowe on the broadcast.
