There's this perception, I think, that social media is ephemeral; quick, easily disposable snippets about nothing much in particular. For the most part that's probably true (and, honestly, social media companies want it that way), but part of why I enjoy making these Social Reaction posts is that for sports at least, it's kind of the opposite: these goofy jokes and memes and video clips all constitute a catalogue of raw emotion and memory of something pretty kickass, which hopefully helps us hang onto that moment, at least for a little while longer.
