It was another successful year for the Buckeye Cruise for Cancer.
The 2025 Buckeye Cruise for Cancer, which concluded Wednesday, raised $4.5 million for cancer research at Ohio State’s James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.
The Buckeye Cruise for Cancer has now raised $45 million for cancer research over the last 18 years.
As always, the Ohio State football family was heavily involved in this year’s Buckeye Cruise. Ryan Day and his family were on board, as was Ohio State general manager Mark Pantoni and a group of current Buckeyes that included safety Caleb Downs, offensive linemen Carson Hinzman and Tegra Tshabola, quarterback Lincoln Kienholz, defensive end Kenyatta Jackson Jr. and cornerbacks Davison Igbinosun and Lorenzo Styles Jr. Former players on board included Heisman Trophy winner Archie Griffin, All-Americans Paris Johnson Jr. and A.J. Hawk, cancer survivor Avery Henry and recent Super Bowl champion Parris Campbell, just to name a few.

Day praised the cruise experience and the generosity of everyone who contributed to that $4.5 million total in an interview with 10TV’s Dom Tiberi aboard the ship.
“The thing that blows my mind is just the generosity. The folks that are on this ship that have been a part of this for a long time, it's just the generosity and how much they care about the James and giving back,” Day said. “I don't think I've ever talked to anybody who's been on this that doesn't think it's just an amazing thing. That's why you see so many people come year in and year out, it's like a family here and a lot of great friendships.”
