In a little over a month, the Ohio State women's hoops team will begin its 2016-17 season boasting perhaps the most talented team in program history.
Many of the team's key games will be broadcast nationally, including a heavyweight match-up with four-time NCAA Champion Connecticut, allowing fans to follow an exciting team all season.
The Buckeyes first televised game will be against Miami (Fla.) in Columbus, Dec. 1st. The Hurricanes finished the 2015-16 season ranked No. 19 and will give Ohio State a nice early-season test.
Of course, the most anticipated game on the docket is Dec. 19 matchup between Ohio State and Connecticut. The Huskies obliterated the Buckeyes 100-56 in Columbus last season and went on to win their fourth national title in as many seasons.
This season, however, Connecticut's star-power is gone while Ohio State adds three former McDonald's All-American transfers as well as three five-star freshmen.
Another key game is the Buckeyes' late-season match-up with Maryland. The Terrapins are one of the favorites to win the conference and are lead by one of the conference's best in senior guard Shatori Walker‐Kimbrough.
Ohio State beat Maryland twice in two attempts last season, but the Terps still came away with both the Big Ten regular season and tournament titles. It's likely that Feb. 20 matchup will have conference title ramifications.
