Kelsey Mitchell continues to climb the all-time scoring charts.
Mitchell is already the all-time leading scorer in both Ohio State and Big Ten history, and now she's making a run at some of the national leaders, passing Baylor's Brittney Griner to take third on the NCAA Division I all-time scoring list.
Rank | Name | Team | Year | Games | Points |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | KELSEY PLUM | WASHINGTON | 2017 | 139 | 3,527 |
2 | JACKIE STILES | MISSOURI STATE | 2001 | 129 | 3,393 |
3 | KELSEY MITCHELL | OHIO STATE | 2018 | 135 | 3,284 |
4 | BRITTNEY GRINER | BAYLOR | 2013 | 148 | 3,283 |
5 | PATRICIA HOSKINS | MISSISSIPPI VALLEY | 1989 | 110 | 3,122 |
6 | LORRI BAUMAN | DRAKE | 1984 | 120 | 3,115 |
7 | JERICA COLEY | FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL | 2014 | 131 | 3,107 |
8 | RACHEL BANHAM | MINNESOTA | 2016 | 144 | 3,093 |
Unless she increases her scoring output significantly and Ohio State makes a deep run in the Big Ten and NCAA tournaments, it's unlikely Mitchell will pass Washington's Kelsey Plum for the top spot.
It is likely, however, that Mitchell will pass Missouri State's Jackie Stiles for No. 2 all time. Mitchell sits just over 100 points behind Stiles. At her current pace of 24.5 points per game, Mitchell would need just over four games to hit that mark, likely during the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament.
