Beer is good, amIrite? Of course I'm right, as are all the Ohioans who apparently can't stop drinking beer.

From Dan Eaton of BizJournals.com:

Beer brewed, distributed and sold in Ohio had a $1.3 billion direct impact on Central Ohio’s economy in 2014 as part of the industry's $4.5 billion contribution statewide.

That's from a new report from the Beer Institute and the National Beer Wholesalers Association that aimed to paint a picture of the industry from every sixer of Bud Light sold at the grocery store to imports from distributors to that one-off batch of your neighborhood brewery’s barrel-aged habanero-infused triple IPA.

The Beer Serves America report found the direct impact – brewing plus wholesaling plus retailing – totaled $108 billion nationally, with the trade emloying 986,356 workers and generating $34.9 billion in wages. Ohio counted 41,728 jobs in the industry with employees making $1.36 billion in wages.

In the future, we may all be working in the beer industry. Not that I'd mind, honestly.

Also, please leave a comment if you know anything about this aforementioned "barrel-aged habanero-infused triple IPA." It sounds disgusting, but it also sounds delicious. If it's a real product, I must know.
