You may not like the NBA, but remember that a rising LeBron lifts all Ohio State sports:

The SEC is garbage now. Go ahead and quote that.
THE GAME. GET HYPE. I will never wish good things upon Michigan, but there's no doubting The Game is better when both teams have championship expectations.
Much like how #QBGeddon maintains its intrigue despite the hype, that's how I feel about this year's banger in Ann Arbor. Michigan could be 0-11 entering that game, and Urban hanging 50 on them might be the highlight of the year.
From ESPN's list of the most 100 anticipated things of this upcoming season:
1. Jim Harbaugh vs. Urban Meyer
This is gonna be fun. Expect Michigan’s first-year coach to attack the current king of college football with Enthusiasm Unknown to Mankind. Harbaugh threw what might have been a barb at the Buckeyes in February over the signing of Detroit running back Mike Weber. While at Stanford, Harbaugh targeted Pete Carroll and USC and upset the Trojans in his first try. Meyer, equally competitive, surely knows what’s coming, and he’s not likely to let Harbaugh throw all the jabs. -- Mitch Sherman
I doubt my 11W obligations will let me attend the actual game, but I may still go to Ann Arbor and bathe in Michigan Men sorrows. (There is no drug like watching throngs of sad Michigan fans file out of the Big House after getting their asses taxed on national television. It's an experience every Ohio State fan should have before they die.)
THE GRIND. John Simon mentioned to our Tim Shoemaker that Urban Meyer's coaching was more "direct" and "intense" than Jim Tressel's.
We got a pretty good glance at that in 97.1 The Fan's Lori Schmidt's interviews of 2002 champions on The Grind:
Although [Tressel] didn’t discuss it much, he did one day hang a sign next to his office door that read, “Complacency will come to collect.”
“Every player noticed it at some point and knew exactly what it was referencing,” says [former linebacker Bobby] Carpenter.
The Vest was the definition of subdued swagger, but the contrast of Urban shoving The Grind down players' throats and Jim Tressel just hanging a sign is hilarious. (I know it's unlikely Tressel only hung a sign, but it's telling that is what Carpenter remembers.)
I know it seems like a blasphemous insult, but at this point, we can all admit we would never trade Urban Meyer for Jim Tressel, right? Sure, the vapid Tattgate fallout and 2011 sucked, but WHO HAS IT BETTER THAN OHIO STATE RIGHT NOW?
(Nobody.)
OSU PROFESSOR WAS ON ONE. I guess tenure isn't like diplomatic immunity in that you can't wantonly commit crimes. Who knew?
From Glenn McEntyre of 10TV.com:
COLUMBUS, Ohio - He is the Ohio State University Professor charged with threatening to kill a Dean. Now, 10TV has uncovered new information about Professor Craig Boardman and a history of bad behavior, including a sexual relationship with a student that ended in threats and retaliation.
Boardman has had glowing reviews since joining OSU's John Glenn College of Public Affairs in 2008. In 2013, he earned tenure and was described by the Dean as "an asset to the school."
But now, he is accused of threatening to kill that same Dean, and also threatening the career of a student who broke up with him.
And that's how you compound a problem, children.
PLEASE STOP THE PROPAGANDA. Please stop spreading these numbers. If you think paying players will collapse society, fine, whatever, but it's comical to watch people pretend college athletic departments are living hand to mouth.
Pay attention to the 4th column in these #B1G numbers; w/out subsidies, some of these athl depts are drowning. pic.twitter.com/ZPdi8TwJbD

We know the accounting tricks used by these schools. Am I supposed to think it's a coincidence Indiana Minnesota and Rutgers both closed the fiscal year at an even $0? (Of course Rutgers and Indiana Minnesota suck at fuzzy accounting too.)
IS THAT JOHNNY UTAH'S MUSIC!? Shane Falco was okay, but to me... Johnny Utah is the greatest fictional OSU QB in history.
AND IT LOOKS LIKE OL JOHNNY UTAH IS BACK ON THE BEAT, Y'ALL. My only regret about this is that they didn't hop Keanu Reaves up on a bunch of Botox and shove him back into the role.
"THE ONLY LAW THAT MATTERS IS GRAVITY!" just became my go-to defense mechanism.
