In case y'all ain't quite done with beating Penn State yet...

Word of the Day: Obloquy.

GOD BLESS HARRY MILLER. I simply cannot properly emphasize how highly I think of Harry Miller, who is without much doubt the most interesting player in college football.

When Harry first got to Ohio State, I expected him to be loathed in a similar way that Aaron Craft was, because he's a similarly impressive human being – high school valedictorian, musician, missionary to Nicaragua, academic, deep thinker, etc. But now that he's here, I'm changing my stance because I really have no idea how anybody could possibly hold any dislike for him.

With Craft, there was an understandable sense of "there's no way someone can possibly be *this* good at life" that drove people insane. But with Harry, he's fun, cool, interesting and impressive in a way that just makes you want to be his friend instead of stirring up overwhelming jealousy.

And the thing is, he's not just quirky and interesting for the sake of being different or for attention, that is who he is as an authentic human being. And more than that, he very much cares about other human beings, as well.

So I mean what I said in that subheader – God bless Harry Miller. I am extremely glad he exists, and I'm even more glad that he plays for my favorite football team.

GARRETT WILSON IS A PROBLEM. Garrett Wilson broke Penn State's defense on one play last week, and it was awesome.

See, Ohio State hadn't really been able to attack the edge with its running game this season, so nobody really had to respect it. But when Wilson got the edge on that first handoff and promptly strolled 62 yards down the field, Penn State was suddenly forced to respect it.

In the open field, Garrett Wilson’s 62-yard run on the opening snap of last Saturday’s victory affirmed his explosive potential in Ohio State football’s already eruptive offense.

...

Last season, Ohio State could produce that sort of burst off the edge with running back J.K. Dobbins. His replacements, Master Teague and Trey Sermon, have not shown that talent yet. Teague thrived as a downhill weapon at times against PSU but does not have that same out-in-space make-you-miss path to big yardage.

As it did a couple of years ago with Parris Campbell, Ohio State displayed another way to find that production.

“Garrett and Chris really have great speed to get the ball on the perimeter, and it’s a great way to get it out there,” Ohio State coach Ryan Day said. "But it only works if the tight ends (block) and Chris comes down and cracks that safety. So the perimeter blocking is critical.

“It just gives us a different element and way to make the defense defend the entire field.”

Reminder, that was the first carry of Wilson's career. Nobody really knew he could do that or expected him to be a factor in the running game, so when they had to defend that from a fellow that busted a 62-yard gain, it absolutely ruined their defense.

As my good pal Kyle Jones, our resident football-knower, explained in our Slack channel, the Nittany Lions were extremely rattled.

"The PSU run fits were a trainwreck," Kyle said in our private Slack channel with no expectation that his words would ever be published for thousands to read. "OSU's OL did their job but there were countless plays where that defense simply didn't have the right guys in their gaps. All the pre-snap motion with tight end shifts and jet motion from Wilson caused chaos."

TL;DR, Ryan Day is a witch and Garrett Wilson is a freak.

GET DUMPED THEN, BOISE STATE. I did not think I had any reason to root against Boise State this week, but it turns out I very much do. See, the Broncos took what is rightfully ours last week, and I want it back.

... despite winning both of their games played this season, the Boise State Broncos (462-170-2) managed to surpass Ohio State (926-326-53) as the FBS program with the best all-time winning percentage.

After defeating Air Force, 49-30, on the road in Week 10, the Broncos two wins from this year have elevated that all-time winning percentage higher (.7303) higher than than Ohio State's .7299, given the fewer total games Boise State's program has played overall than the Buckeyes.

The good news for Buckeyes fans, though, is that Boise State faces what appears to be its toughest opponents of the year this Friday against No. 9 BYU at home in Boise. In fact, the Broncos have already opened as 2.5-point home underdogs to the Cougars, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Needless to say, I am suddenly a BYU fan. The good news is, it's gonna feel perfectly natural rooting against all that blue.

GOODBYE, GINN. I'm sad to report that it looks like Touchdown Teddy Ginn's days with the Bears – and possibly his NFL playing days – are over as Chicago is parting ways with our beloved fast fellow.

When I'm inevitably very publically fired from this job, I hope that Jason at least gets his money's worth by axing my ass with a sponsored Tweet.

May I humbly suggest an Arby's partnership, good sir? That is my dying wish.
