One down, eleven to go — at least concerning the regular season.

Following Ohio State's 52-6 triumph over the Akron Zips in the opening game for 2024 Buckeye football, Johnny and I explore the pros and cons from the first performance and how they compare to preseason expectations. We talk Will Howard, the split between running backs, effectiveness of the defensive line and gauge confidence in the offensive line's ability to improve going forward.

Additionally, the Dubcast discussion also covers:

  • The Buckeyes only need 15 more punt return yards the rest of the way to match last season's total. How good does Brandon Innis look in that role, and how much did Parker Fleming really hold the special teams unit back?
  • Ask Us Anything — writers to dubcast@elevenwarriors.com this week inquired about many topics, such as what is the stupidest Amazon purchase you have ever made?
  • "Sign Stealer" released last week on Netflix. While it hardly provided any new information on the Connor Stalions scandal at Michigan, it certainly gave some aggressively propagandized perspectives worthy of reaction. Also, Eleven Warriors made a few special appearances — including Johnny!
  • Despite a strong showing from the Big Ten in the first week of the college football season, Oregon and Wisconsin left much desired. Michigan as well, though the true early test of the Wolverines' abilities looms this weekend.
  • What to watch for in Ohio State's upcoming matchup against Western Michigan, a team that gave Luke Fickell quite a scare last Friday night.

And that does it for the Dubcast this week, watch the show now on YouTube above or visit our Transistor page for links to other listening options such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and more.
