Some weeks in college football are fairly boring. For example, last week there were no games between ranked teams, and no upsets. This week... uh, this week has turned out a bit differently.
In the biggest upset on an upset-filled day, No. 11 Ole Miss overcame No. 3 Alabama 23-17 to stay undefeated in an incredibly competitive SEC West. Bo Wallace threw two touchdowns in the final six minutes, and the Rebels picked off Alabama QB Blake Sims in the end zone to preserve the win.
Even before the prime time games, seven ranked teams have been taken down: No. 2 Oregon, No. 3 Alabama, No. 4 Oklahoma, No. 6 Texas A&M, No. 14 Stanford (which nearly upset No. 9 Notre Dame), No. 17 Wisconsin, and No. 18 BYU. With five other ranked teams playing tonight, it's sure to get even uglier.
Ole Miss had not been 5-0 since 1962. After this week, both it and in-state rival Mississippi State will be in the top 5. And there's your window into how crazy the college football world has been this season.
