Tulsa had reportedly interviewed Tom Herman, the 2014 Broyles Award winner, this week in Tulsa.
But in the end, Tulsa did gets its offensive minded coach with ties to Texas: Montgomery was a finalist for the 2013 Broyles Award. In 2013, FootballScoop.com named Montgomery, who also coaches quarterbacks at Baylor, as its top coordinator.
