A Pennsylvania state police report from 2001 following the infamous locker room assault witnessed by assistant Mike McQueary contains a description of Paterno's reaction to it, where the coach said it "was the second complaint of this nature he had received."
The coach's documented words contradict both what he told a grand jury and his published statement prior to his death in 2012 that he "had 'no inkling' that Sandusky might be a sexual deviant" until McQueary approached him in 2001.
