31 years ago today, Metallica bassist Cliff Burton was killed in a bus accident while the band was on tour in Sweden, at the age of 24. He would be 55 years old if he were alive today.
His royalties from Metallica music are sent to his parents, and his dad Ray uses the royalties to provide music scholarships to children at Castro Valley High School, where Cliff graduated.
At age 92, his dad is still around the Metallica scene.
