Read between the lines this is what I think:

1) this weekend reports of Harbaugh “eyeing return to NFL”

2) Monday that Bacon guy twitters “there’s an offer on the table, less money more incentives, etc”

So I think that offer was on the table last week. Harbaugh‘s response was to leak the NFL talk in an awkward passive-aggressive non-response.  UoX through their Bacony mouthpiece replies there’s an extension on the table “Harbaugh needs to accept, decline, or negotiate.”
 

Therefore, Jim got an extension offer and decided to leak he has other offers. UoX leaks offer on the table be a man and talk to us. 

So #1 things are strained if the camps are communicating through media leaks.

#2 UoX doesn’t want to extend him or they have serious misgivings. Or it hurts boosters, donors, someone real bad to fire him now.

#3 Jim still thinks he should be paid CFP winning coach money.

I think Jim won’t like the counter-leaks and he will neither decline or accept, and  will run the clock until UoX has to fire him. Then bitch to the media that UoX wouldn’t work with him.
