Just a few years after Florida State's program torpedoed with Jimbo Fisher at the helm, is Texas A&M headed for the same fate after a loss against Appalachian State?
Jimbo had many issues at Florida State - notably how he handled QB Jameis Winston but there were many more that are detailed in this Bleacher Report article, and those same signs may be coming to light at Texas A&M.
Some recent news:
- A&M lost at home against Appalachian State, 17-14, as an 18.5 point favorite. They recently bought brought the number one recruiting class into College Station.
- One of those recruits, top five cornerback Denver Harris, recently liked a tweet of a video that said Jimbo's offense "expired in 2014".
- Harris, mentioned above, recently live streamed himself racing through a parking garage.
- Evan Stewart, another freshman, recently retweeted this tweet that was originally from December of 2021:
Here is the difference between Texas and Texas A&M, Cook said. Right now, Texas has the scheme but not the players, A&M has the players but not the scheme.https://t.co/IQTpwnTebc

- After that fun, Josh Pate of 247 Sports said "I am telling you, that true freshman class is not hanging around for this. They are not. They are absolutely not. So it has gotta be improved upon right now" in this article. Pate was the one stating the offense was expired in the tweet that was liked by Denver Harris above.
So, is Jimbo Fisher going to be quickly on his way out? Texas A&M was nice enough to give him a contract extension and raise last year that pays him more than $9 million annually and it's fully guaranteed. A&M was 8-4 last year but somehow pulled off a victory against Bama. Now they will try to right the ship against #13 Miami (speaking of fraud programs flush with NIL money) at home and then play #10 Arkansas at Jerry's World before playing at Alabama on October 8th. There's a fair chance they could be 2-4 heading into their off week.
