After back-to-back performances where his team held conference opponents below 20 points, Ryan Day acknowledged what the box scores had shown.
"We almost reengineered the defense," he said of the work he and the defensive staff put in during the bye week following the loss to Oregon. "What I mean by that is, not scrap everything, but ... how do we put our players in the best position to be successful? How are teams scheming us up?"
But to the naked eye, the changes that led to consecutive performances that limited Nebraska to just 273 yards and Penn State to 270 might not be so clear. Luckily, that's why we're here.
