With the "Stun Belt" Conference shocking the CFB world last Saturday (GA Southern beating Nebraska, Appy State wasting A&M, and Marshall upending ND in South Bend) I was looking at the slate of games for this weekend and I think there is potential for another crazy weekend. There quite a few cupcakes on Saturday:
- OSU vs. Toledo (Toledo is "good" but come on!)
- TTUN vs. UCONN (what a joke!)
- Kentucky vs. YSU
- Baylor vs. Texas State
- Bama vs. UL Monroe (I'll revisit this game later)
- Wake Forest vs. Liberty
- Okie State vs Ark Pine-Bluff
- Tennessee vs. Akron
- Clemson vs. LA Tech
The list goes on and on. However, there are a few games that I think could be a bit interesting. Maybe not an upset, but I wouldn't be surprised to find closer-than-expected games with ranked teams this Saturday.
- UGA @ S. Carolina
- Pitt @ Western Michigan (WMU didn't look bad for 3 quarters vs. Sparty in week 1)
- Fresno St. @ USC
- UTSA @ Texas (watch for the let down!)
- NC State hosting Texas Tech
- Oregon hosting BYU (the Cougars are the better team and ranked #12 while the Ducks are #25)
- Penn State @ Auburn
- Cal @ ND
- Oklahoma @ Nebraska
There are a few other games that could be surprising but I think this weekend has the potential to yield some upsets. What games are you looking at for potential upsets?
Also, that UL Monroe @ Bama game shouldn't be close, but did you know the series is tied 1-1? Monroe won @ Bama in 2007 and Bama won in 2015. This is the rubber game of the series! LOL
