I am a total dork, but how come some jerseys have the brands (mostly Nike) on them and some don't? It would make sense if the players are not part of that brand anymore (Tebow isn't with Nike), but it seems very random. Baker is a Nike athlete but doesn't have the swoosh on his jersey, and some of the Alabama players do and don't. I don't expect anyone to have an answer but it really bugs me. Looking at pictures, it seems like Baker's jersey did have the swoosh a few years ago but this year there it's like he's wearing a generic plain white OU jersey with no swoosh. Maybe he was not renewed by Nike this year? Another example, RG3 is in his Nike Baylor jersey, Carson Palmer has a Nike USC jersey, however Bryce Young does not have the swoosh on his jersey (it's really cool to see a current player in these ads).
For Ohio State when Eddie won it in 1995, Ohio State didn't have Nike jerseys (they were Champion, Nike jerseys started in 1996 - please bring back the gray sleeve stripes and larger shoulder numbers), but if anyone has any insight why some jerseys have the swoosh and others don't when the player won the Heisman as part of a Nike school, I would love to know. Also when I was looking up pictures, I found a few with Troy in his Ohio State jersey with no other marks other than the stripes and numbers...very odd.
Fun fact, the first Nike schools with jerseys were in 1994 with Florida State and Penn State (the coaching jackets were the absolute best). Ironically in the Rose Bowl after that season when they played Oregon, the Ducks were not a Nike school yet. Oregon, known now as The Nike School, had Nike jerseys starting in 1996 along with Ohio State and others.
The next schools with Nike jerseys appeared in 1995 with Blue, Alabama, UNC and The U.
