After several rounds on this, I'm not convinced they're re-engaged in official talks. I get the impression that UM's reps are floating or attempting to float some self-imposed options to see how they'd be received.
At this point, both parties have certified their decision to move forward to a hearing before the Committee on Infractions to resolve this case. While the enforcement review board might be receptive to renewed talks with UM, they are under no obligation to do so. However little leverage UM had during earlier talks, they have even less now. Anything short of accepting just about all that was offered by the NCAA would be futile.
It's becoming more and more likely we face Interim HC Wink on November 30th.2
