The Buckeye Men's Lacrosse team opened the season with an exciting, last-second (0:04 on the clock), 8-7 victory against Furman. OSU successfully fought off the Paladins' upset bid after Furman tied the game at 7 apiece with only 33 seconds remaining. Two Lax Bux were named B1G Players of the Week for their efforts in the game. Junior Jake Whithers was named the specialist of the week (won 14 of 19 faceoffs including all nine in the 2nd and 3rd quarters, and scooped a team-leading, nine ground balls). Sophomore Brendan Barger was named defensive POW after forcing three turnovers and scooping two groundballs. The Buckeye defense is currently ranked #9 in the nation.
Tomorrow (Sat, 13 Feb), the #11 ranked Lax Bux host the University of Detroit Titans in the WHAC. Although tickets are sold out, if you're sitting around making beef jerky or not out buying a new mattress, you can catch a live stream of the game through Buckeye Vision on OhioStateBuckeyes.com.
