Another week without Ryan Terefenko, this time with a different result. Despite the absence of their best player, Ohio State found a bit of a rhythm, and managed to defeat their archrivals, 13-10. The lacrosse teams are undefeated against the Wolverines so far this year, making today a glorious step towards normalcy.

Offensively, Ohio State had an up-and-down day. Tre Leclaire was poor shooting the ball, ending up at 2-10. On the flip side, Leclaire dished out 2 assists today, the most he has had in a long, long time.

As a unit, Ohio State limited turnovers, but still was far sloppier than need be on the whole. Whether it be rushing possessions, poor shots, poor dodges, etc., there is still plenty to work on. That said, all of the non-Leclaire players picked up the scoring slack.

Johnny Wiseman had his first multi-goal day since 2019, I believe. Scott White has established himself as a solid player in midfield after languishing behind Leclaire and Myers at attack for most of his career. Trent DiCicco had his first DI goal today, on a single shot! Jackson Reid also scored today. Despite the problems, 13 goals is still 13 goals.

Defensively, the Buckeyes were also up and down. The close D didn't perform particularly well, as almost all of the Wolverines' points came from the attackmen. That said, the Buckeyes still held TTUN to nearly 25% shooting, though the Wolverines had more shots than usual.

The biggest news is that Alec van de Bovenkamp has probably sealed the starting goalkeeper gig for the foreseeable future. I firmly believe OSU beats Penn State last week if he had started over Wahlund. It's exciting seeing some improvement there, especially since the presumable starter beat feet for Hopkins in the off-season.

At the faceoff dot, Ohio State split things almost down the middle with the Wolverines. It's a rivalry game, things happen, Inacio will be fine.

Ohio State had no Man Up opportunities, again, but did manage to stifle their rivals on the Man Down, which is very nice to see.

Overall, an adequate, not good performance. So much to clean up still, and Terefenko's absence is huge. Hopefully he is back in time for Maryland, though I don't see him making that much of a difference in the outcome one way or another.

Enjoy the W!

Go Bucks!
