Not sure the last time they were ranked this high but quite the accomplishment. They started the season ranked 14th but quickly jumped after beating then #5 Tennessee. Tennessee has since dropped to 23rd after also losing to Indiana.
Their shooting and rebounding at times can struggle but they play a suffocating defense for all four quarters. They lead the NCAA in forced turnovers at 34 per game (next closest is 30 per game) and are second in turnover margin. They are also second in steals per game at just under 20.
Their next serious test should be November 30th when they play at #10 Louisville. Fortunately they have already played two road games so they have the experience of playing in enemy territory but Louisville fans are pretty rabid so the atmosphere should be very strong for the home team and offer a good measure as to where this team stands.
