Another terrible week for the baseball team. Not much to say. Poor offense and poor defense won't get you many wins.
The week started with a one-off stint against Xavier on Tuesday, and nothing went right for Ohio State as the Musketeers scored the first 8 runs to win 8-1, with the lone Buckeye score coming from Tyler Pettorini off an error. Starting pitcher George Eisenhardt was given the loss as he gave up a 2 run homer in the T3 that would put Xavier up for good.

Ohio State then returned to conference play with a weekend series against Minnesota, and hardly anything went well. In game 1 on Friday, Ohio State took a quick 2-0 lead in the B2, and held that for most of the game, but when the time came to close out the would be win, relief pitching blew the game as the Gophers scored 3 runs, including back-to-back home runs in the T9. Landon Beidelschies was officially given the loss, as he was responsible for the 3rd Gopher run, but reliever Nolan Clegg before him gave up the back-to-back homers. However if there was one bright spot to this game, starting pitcher Isaiah Coupet struck out 10 Gopher batters through 7 innings.

Saturday's game provided an oasis in the desert as Ohio State would get their first conference win, 6-2. Ohio State again, started the scoring with a 2-run B2, but allowed the Gophers to tie up the game in the T4. Two more 2-run innings in the B4 and B8, capped off by a Henry Kaczmar 2-run homer, allowed the Buckeyes to come out with the win. Starting pitcher Gavin Bruni was given the win as he struck out 11 Gophers in 6 innings. A different Buckeye scored each run, but Kaczmar was the high team scorer with 3 RBIs

But that's where the fun ended. Although the Buckeyes gained a 1-0 lead in the B1, Minnesota used a 5-run T2 inning to take the lead for good, as they would win the game 6-2 and take the series. Kaczmar and Caden Kaiser scored the Buckeye runs as Cole Andrews and Pettorini, respectively, batted them in. Eisenhardt was again given the loss as he was responsible for the 5 runs allowed in the T2.

Up next, Ohio State hosts Kent State on Tuesday, before going to East Lansing to play Michigan State over the weekend.
