Believe it or not, wrestling season is here!
Ohio State competed in the Clarion Open last weekend and did extremely well, with freshman Rocco Welsh earning Big Ten Wrestler of the Week honors for his efforts. The 174-pounder from Waynesburg, Penn., won five matches Sunday in his first collegiate tourney.
He won the first match by technical fall (22-5) over Colby Isabelle of Brown University, then pinned Brody Baumann of Purdue before rattling off three wins by decision, including a win in the final match over Sammy Starr of Navy (8-2).

The No. 7 Buckeyes open their dual-meet season on the road, facing No. 3 Virginia Tech Friday night in Blacksburg. The dual streams on ESPN+ at 7 p.m. The team returns to Columbus for a noon matchup Sunday against Edinboro in Covelli that will stream on B1G+.
