E.J. Liddell’s second game in the NBA Summer League came to an abrupt end on Monday.
The former Ohio State forward, who was selected by the New Orleans Pelicans in the second round of last month’s NBA draft, went down with a right knee injury during the Pelicans’ 101-73 win over the Atlanta Hawks.
#Pelicans rookie E.J. Liddell was just carried off the floor putting no weight on his right knee. These types of injuries are the toughest part of summer league.

Liddell had already suffered a knee injury earlier in the game, then returned to action. Unfortunately, his return to the floor was short-lived, as he did not come back after he went down a second time and was helped back to the locker room.
Jarron Collins, who’s coaching the Pelicans’ Summer League team, said Liddell would get an MRI on his right knee Monday night.
