The Fever, who finished dead last in the WNBA with a 5-31 record in 2022, improved to 4-6 with Mitchell’s game-winner. Through 10 games, Mitchell leads the Fever with 16.8 points per game this season.
Her game-winner also prompted former Ohio State linebacker Jerome Baker to tell a humorous story about playing pickup basketball against Mitchell during his freshman year as a Buckeye.
Funny story. Freshman year at Ohio State I was at the rec with some of the older guys and she was there also. They told me to guard Kelsey. I was thinking it would be an easy guard. She proceeded to cook me the WHOLE GAME. I don't think i ever played basketball again at OSU. https://t.co/SF9oRwCO6n
