Malaki Branham shined in his first NBA summer league appearance of 2023.
The former Ohio State forward scored 32 points and added five rebounds in the San Antonio Spurs’ 109-99 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday.

Branham made 12 of 24 attempts from the floor in the Sacramento Kings Golden 1 Center, including 3 of 6 shots from behind the arc and 5 of 5 tries from the free-throw line. The Akron, Ohio, native was San Antonio's leading scorer in the contest, followed by the Spurs' Julian Champagnie with 28 and the Lakers' Max Christie with 25.
San Antonio was undefeated in their two matchups against the Lakers and Charlotte Hornets at the 2023 California Classic Summer League. From July 7-17, the Spurs will travel with the other 29 teams in the NBA to Las Vegas, where they will compete for one of four spots in the summer league playoffs and a summer league title.
