Trent Burns is considered the 115th-ranked prospect (No. 18 center) in the 2024 class and his stock has continued to rise following impressive showings throughout the spring and summer, including the NCAA Academy.

After receiving an offer from the Buckeyes on June 26, the 7-foot-3, 210-pound big man will visit Ohio State Oct. 7-9, according to 247Sports' Dushawn London.

Although the Buckeyes offered Burns later in the process, OSU has done its best to make up for lost time. After visiting Purdue in June, six days before Ohio State offered Burns, the Houston, Texas native wants to make a decision somewhat soon after his upcoming six visits.

“I’m starting to narrow some stuff down right now,” he told London. “I got my visit schedule set and I’m looking to make my decision sometime in early-to-mid November.

“I’m definitely looking at what bigs each school has produced in the past,” he said. “I want to see if they’ve had skilled bigs similar to me. I also want to play somewhere where the culture is nice and the coaching staff beliefs align with my mine.”

Ohio State will be his final official visit, something that the Buckeyes wanted.

“That relationship is good," Burns said of OSU. "They want me to come down so they can show me what they can offer. They said they wanted to be my last visit before my commitment.”

With forward Colin White (No. 153 overall) and combo guard Juni Mobley (No. 45 overall) already committed to Ohio State in the 2024 class. Mobley and White could potentially be the only two high school commits in the cycle for the Buckeyes but it's also a possibility that Chris Holtmann and company decide to add a big man to the class as well. Burns, Jayden Quaintance – who considers Ohio State a "serious contender" for him – and Aidan Sherrell are likely the top centers OSU will pursue to close out its 2024 class.
