Big game tomorrow night at USC. Critical to win for a potential at large bid to the big dance. Always fun to see the Buckeyes be a part of the best tournament in sports, but is it in the best interest of the program?
I feel like this program has A+ potential with respect to winning the B1G and making deep tournament runs. That used to be both the goal and the expectation. Now we are at the end of another season where we are near the bottom of the B1G and fighting for the final at large bid in a 68 team tournament. Are we the student with A+ potential that will be celebrated for barely passing if we back into the big dance?
Wouldn't it be fun for these last 3 games had a bearing on deciding if we won the B1G regular season? Wouldn't it be fun if we were Final Four level good? We are not Duke, I get that, but we used to be that good at least a couple times a decade. The goal and the expectation of this program used to be to win the B1G and make a deep tournament run. Now the goal is to back into the last at large tournament bid.
Something for all Ohio State fans to think about if things don't go our way in these last 3 games. It might be beneficial in the long term to fail now if it puts pressure on the program to reach it's potential in the long term.
